0diggsdigg Five Ways to Find an Unadvertised Job Today!

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

A huge number of jobs are never advertised. How do you go about snagging one of these?
Network:

This is one of the best ways to find a job. Let people know you are looking for work. Tell everyone - your relatives, friends, neighbors, people at the gym. You can also talk to people who work at a similar position to the one you want. Let them know of your skills and credentials. Who knows when they may be asked to recommend someone for a job and your name will be fresh in their mind.
Investigate:
There's a couple of companies you've been looking at, but you don't see them advertising jobs in the paper or online. Find their website and check it out. Companies often post their job ads on their corporate site and don't advertise them anywhere else. A little digging might reveal they are hiring for your dream job.
Ask if a Company is Hiring:
If you are interested in working for a specific company, ask them if they are hiring. They may take your resume and keep it on file. The next time they are hiring, before they incur costs to advertise, they will look through their resumes first. And you'll be there.
Contact your Professional Organization:
If you belong to a professional organization or association, give them a call. Ask them if they are aware of any job opportunities with any companies in your field. They can be very knowledgeable about opportunities because often companies will go to them for advice on hiring or finding staff.
Contact your Local Chamber of Commerce:
They know of most businesses in a local region. They can help you find out who is hiring and who isn't. They can also inform you of new businesses (maybe a large company is coming into the area and is looking for staff) and put you in touch with business leaders. This gives you the opportunity to use your networking skills and to introduce yourself to those who make hiring decisions.
Finding unadvertised jobs is all about putting yourself out there and looking for opportunities. It's about taking the time to seek out your dream job even if no one is telling you how or where to apply. And the payoff can be very satisfying.

Always Wanted to be a Police Officer?

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

You've decided this is the path you want to take. You've watched enough NYPD Blue and COPS to know this is the life for you. What do you do now?

Dig In:
Call your local police force or your local RCMP detachment. Ask to go on a ride-along. This will give you a better understanding of the job. What you don't see on NYPD Blue you might get to experience on your ride-along.

Talk To Those on the Job:
Get to know your local police officers. Make some contacts at the station by telling them you're interested in the job and in pursuing a career in it. Ask them what they like about, what they dislike, what skills they needed, how they got into it, what skills they think you should have, and anything else you can come up with.

Decide on Which Force to Join:
If you are interested in local police in your town or municipality, check their websites or give them a call to see what qualifications you need to work as a police officer for your town or city. Ask them how many officers they have hired lately and how they see their needs in the future. Education requirements differ from city to city. Some will require you to have a policing course completed. Some hire you first and send you to a police college. As well, many colleges and universities offer preparatory courses to help you get into policing. Ask the force what they are looking for as this could save you a lot of time and money.
If you are interested in joining the RCMP, they have a detailed requirement of what they need. First, you must attend a training session. They are held throughout the country. Contact your local detachment for information on the next available training session. Then you must write the RCMP Police Aptitude Test, do the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (called PARE, which is used by most police agencies in Canada), then a series of tests, investigations, and evaluations are performed. If you are successful, you will be selected to enroll in the cadet training program at RCMP Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Get Ready:
The process to join a police force can be intense. You've got to be prepared to deal with physical fitness testing, personality and aptitude testing, background checks, and lots of paperwork.
Policing can be a satifying and rewarding career. A little research now will help you prepare yourself and get you closer to fulfilling your goal.

Over 50 and Looking for Work?

By Sara Parent

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Older adults looking for work can often face challenges unique to their position.
According to Barry Witkin, CEO of Prime50 Employment Services, "Employers still think that they are dealing with a 50+ person that existed 50 years ago and not realizing that the 50+ person of today is younger looking, healthier, has longevity, and wants to continue their careers."
If you are over 50 and looking for work, here are some things you should keep in mind.

Showcase Your Technology Skills:
Don't give an employer a reason to buy into the myth that older workers aren't technology savvy. Focus on the tech skills you have. Showcase your abilities to use and learn new programs by drawing on your past experiences and your ability to learn new processes. If your skills aren't where they should be, update your computer skills and learn how to use the common technology tools of today. Computers and new technologies are part of the workplace, and whether you are young or old, you should be able to use them effectively.

Focus on Your Experience and Loyalty:
According to Witkin, older workers have a vast amount of experience and knowledge and could be great mentors to the younger employee. He adds they are loyal and will not leave a job as the younger generation is doing today after two years or so.
Stress your experience and your ability to hit the floor running. If you've worked for a company for a large number of years, focus on the positive changes you made, the skills you learned, and your loyalty.
Show employers that hiring you makes sense. Witkin says that older workers know how to deal with change and stress and won`t panic in crucial situations because they have all of these life/work experiences from the past to rely on.
Draw upon your life experiences to show potential employers how you've managed situations in the past, and how you can use those skills in the future to benefit the workplace.

Get Out There:
You have a world of experience that just can't be had in a classroom. Get out there and make use of your experiences. If you're motivated to continue your career, make sure you stress that to a potential employer. Show them that you are willing to learn new things and help others around you with your experience. With the aging population, demographics and the future are in your favor. According to Witkin, the future holds great things for the worker who is 50+. He foresees that employers "will recognize that all the perceptions they had about the 50+ workforce are all wrong. They will embrace them by recruiting them and retaining them and create policies to allow them to work under quite different conditions and terms than they would have not considered before."
Being an older adult looking for work can have its advantages. Make sure you showcase your work experience, loyalty, abilities, and your desire to work. You've got a lot to offer potential employers so make sure they know it.

Students: Looking for a Sports-Related Summer Job?

If you love sports, there's no reason why you can't make it a part of your summer job. Check out these ideas on how to incorporate your love of sports into a job.

Hockey in the Summer?
If you're into sports, particularly hockey, why not consider applying to work at a summer hockey school or camp? These jobs are perfect for students because they are usually only for the summer. They are also a great way to get experience in coaching and working with kids, especially if you are pursing a sports, recreation, or education degree.
Summer on the Green:
Golf courses need tons of help in the summer. From driving range attendants, to landscaping workers, to working in the pro shop, you'll be exposed to golfing all summer. It's a great way to get your foot in the door if you're looking at gaining some golf-related experience.
Life-Guarding and Swimming Instruction:
If you prefer being in the water, you should check out these two summer job options. They generally require more experience and certification than some other summer jobs, but they are a great way to combine your love of water with making some summer money. Opportunities for life-guarding and swimming instructors can be found at city pools, beaches, summer camps, and recreational facilities.
Indoor Sports Facilities:
There are lots of different opportunities at indoor sports facilities that can be great if you're into sports. You can work at skating rinks, bowling alleys, in a fitness centre, or at a pool. Jobs range from doing maintenance, customer service, or selling tickets for events. A good way to prepare for a job like this is to get First Aid Certification before you apply for a job, since many sports facilities require this.
Retail Sports Jobs:
If you love sports, why not consider applying to work at a retail store that focuses on sports? You'll have the valuable knowledge that will make it helpful for customers who are looking at getting sports equipment or information about starting a sport. You might also be offered an employee discount which could benefit you as well. Consider big box sports stores and traditional stores that have sports departments.
You don't have to sacrifice your love of sports when you're looking for a summer job. Just think creatively and look for opportunities that allow you to use your sporting skills.

The Benefits of Temping

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Working as a temporary worker at a company has its advantages. Being a temporary worker can be a great way to update your skills, gain valuable work experience, and have a flexible lifestyle. Temporary workers usually sign up with a temp agency, go through a screening and testing process, and get offered temporary positions at different companies.

Flexibility:
Perhaps the biggest advantage to temping is flexibility. You can choose assignments when you are available for work according to your schedule at locations you want to work at. If you want to take time off, you simply let your agency know that you're unavailable for work for that time period.

Experience:
Temping is a great way to improve your skills, meet new people, and discover new industries. Because your assignments can vary often, you get a chance to try out many different work ennvironments, thus adding to your bank of skills. For those who are unsure which industry they'd like to work in, it's a great way to find out what you like. For first-time job seekers or recent grads, this offers transferable experience and skills. It's also a great way to fine-tune your existing skills with on the job experience.

Insight:
If you are new to an area, this type of work is a great way to gain experience in the local job market. Since you might not be aware of the different companies that are hiring, by working with a temp agency, you can benefit from their experience and knowledge of the job environment.

A Foot in the Door:
Being a temp gives you valuable insight on how a company works. You can use this insight and experience to become a permanent worker. Often, companies will prefer to hire someone they've worked with before. And you'll have a better idea of the job, what it takes to work there, and if it's really for you. Temping at a company you'd like to work at also offers you the opportunity to "interview" for a job. By working hard and going the extra mile, you give your supervisors a chance to see you perform at the job successfully. It's also a great opportunity to network with your new colleagues should openings not be immediately available at the company.

Slow Economy?
Temping is a great way to take advantage of a slower economy. Many companies prefer to hire temporary help when times are leaner. If you've recently been laid off, temping can provide you with a way to stay in the job market and keep your skills current while you look for a permanent job. Many temporary staffing agencies also offer benefits to their temp workers, so it can be a great way to continue to have some security while changing careers or work situation.

Understanding the ISO 9001 Audit Checklist

By Justin Knightley

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

If an organization has recently embarked on the journey of implementing ISO 9001:2008, a generic ISO 9001 audit checklist can be very helpful in determining gaps in compliance. As the system matures however, generic checklists lose their effectiveness and it becomes critical for the organization to delve deeper in terms of conformance when assessing the effectiveness of operational controls and specific processes.
Why use an ISO 9001 Audit Checklist?
Internal auditors often use an ISO 9001 audit checklist to determine compliance since the ISO 9001 audit checklist covers each requirement of the standard as a question. This type of questionnaire is very useful for internal auditors, because it helps them to discover how a specific requirement is implemented. The auditor has only to check that the defined procedure meets the requirements and if the procedure is preformed correctly.
The shortcoming of this approach is that the audit often fails to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the process being audited. What happens if the process does not meet procedure? Should you change the process to be compliant with the procedure, or should you verify whether the process is effective and change the procedure? These are questions to consider in any procedure-based audit.
Instead, use the ISO 9001 audit checklist only as a guide and allow the auditor to delve freely into whatever process is deemed critical. This model will produce more meaningful findings, but, there is a risk that auditors focus on auditing processes that are familiar to their particular specialty. Furthermore, as time goes by, completing the checklist could become mandatory and overburdened with detail resulting in less time for in-depth auditing.
Process Auditing and Checklists
Process audits are undertaken to verify whether a process meets the planned goals and objectives and to identify opportunities for improvement. The main thing to understand when auditing a process is the actual process concept. One does not need to know or understand the details of a specific process to be able to audit it, although it does help. A good auditor should be able to audit any process without knowing anything about it by monitoring the process inputs to determine whether the desired process outputs have been achieved.
As with other ISO standards which require internal auditing, audit checklists based on the standard have minimal benefit when it comes to auditing a process. It is best to develop a specific audit questionnaire based on actual management system policies, processes and procedures. This allows a more in-depth approach that identifies not only failures in the processes but also potential failures, while also ensuring the internal auditors are much more rigorous during their enquiries.
Controlling the Audit Checklist
The basic ISO 9001 checklist template should be controlled but the actual audit checklist for each process is subject to change and should not be controlled.

Corrections Officer Workout Routine - How To Pass The Test

By EL Forestal

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Are you ready for the corrections officer physical fitness test?
If your answer is no, or you are in okay shape but need a little bit more work then keep reading. I've included some really simple workout tips in this article that will improve your strength, conditioning, and overall fat to muscle content.
The truth is some recruits have sailed through the correctional officer fitness test, while others have struggled mightily. I know if you are reading this article, you are dead serious about improving your overall fitness level. That's why I've written this article to help those candidates who are serious about getting a passing score on their corrections officer PFT.
You see, the corrections officer fitness test standards are different from agency to agency, but all of them are looking for recruits who are in shape. Seriously you don't want to show up to the test site out of shape or grossly overweight. Trust me if that happens, you might as well kiss your opportunity goodbye.
Here's how to get in shape fast:
The number one thing that you want to do when training for the law enforcement fitness test is to follow a workout routine that incorporates both strength training and cardiovascular improvement. If you do one without the other, you won't pass the test. The best workout program that incorporates both strength development and cardiovascular improvement is interval training.
If you don't know much about high intensity interval training, I suggest that you study up on this powerful workout program. If you include interval training to your regular training routine, you'll get into shape faster than you ever thought possible.

Team Building Event on a Limited Budget

By Kim M Hesse

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Our client had 80 guests in Melbourne for a three day conference and on the second evening they wanted to host a team building event. We were on a very limited budget and while brainstorming cost effective team building ideas we came up with a pizza making competition.
This event provided us with the opportunity to take guests out of the hotel and place them in new and exciting surroundings.
Step one was to find the perfect venue. When working on a budget use your venue to set the scene. We found a rustic underground restaurant with a wood fired oven.
Being a weeknight we were able to hire the entire basement level at a great price. Note - Venues always want to fill their function space on a weeknight, you should be able to negotiate a better rate on a weeknight as opposed to a Friday or Saturday evening.
To start the evening off, we had the executive chef demonstrate the art of pizza making. The group were then split into teams and given the task of creating their own pizza's. This was a great way to provide a team building activity but also save money as they ate the pizza's they had made. Of course we supplied some professionally made pizza's as well!
In regard to themeing the venue, with not too much expense we transformed the space into a Little Italy. We utilised the venues free white table cloths and simply hired in red and white check table cloths to be placed over the white cloths provided by the venue.
We brought white candles from the reject shop and melted them onto empty wine bottle provided free of charge by the venue. Add some artificial grapes, again from the reject shop and presto a budget friendly and easy table decoration!
Lighting is also a great way to create effect without the expense. Here in little Italy we hired mini up-lights, when chatting to an audio visual supplier you can also ask for parcan lights. The lights were only $5 each and you get to choose what colour gel (in other words a thick cellophane cover) you would like. We chose gels in red and green placing them around the room to light the walls for a warm effect.
Our guests had a fantastic evening and as well as pizza making there was plenty of dough throwing!
Good Luck and Happy Eventing.
Kim Hesse - Managing Director of Venues 2 Events is an event manager at heart and has a crazy passion for the exciting world of events!

The last four years has seen Kim transform Venues 2 Events into an Industry Leader and resource for finding reputable venues across Australia. Kim believes in this Industry and hopes to share some of her passion and knowledge with you!

Why Team Building Is Out and Team Growing Is In

By Karen Schmidt

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

The old model of "building" a great team is outdated.
The concept of growing a team instead of building a team has been around a long time. It seems to have started with Frederick P Brooks in his book "The mythical man-month" written over 30 years ago. He believed that the "building metaphor has outlived its usefulness" and that "the conceptual structures we construct today are too complicated to be accurately specified in advance and too complex to be built faultlessly, then we must take a radically different approach".
So why do we persist with the term "team building"? I believe it's because it's easier for many technical managers to deal with inanimate objects than it is to deal with people. Building involves taking materials and logically turning them into something productive. You can determine in advance what you want to achieve and, with the right skills and equipment, reproduce an exact replica of a blueprint.
People aren't like that. Just because someone has the skills to perform a role doesn't mean they will perform it. Just because a reporting structure should work doesn't mean it will. Just because you give someone the title of manager doesn't mean they can manage. Things get in the way. Things like personalities, past experiences and perceptions.
We have moved on from the industrial age and are now in the information age. People are at the heart of most organisations. Today, most successful businesses are all about intellectual capital not capital works. So stop treating people like pieces of wood you can build into a structure and start treating them like living beings that will naturally grow if given the right conditions.
Like a good garden, what makes a good team comes down to intangibles and most technical managers aren't good at dealing with them. They want the black and white, right and wrong, one size fits all solution. Gardeners know that doesn't work. They know you can put five plants in the same garden bed, four will thrive and one will die. Often there is no logic to it, just like with people. You can do all the right things... give them good soil, water them, give them regular fertiliser and protect them from pests and they will still die! That's nature. Just like you can't command a plant to grow faster, you can't command a person to work harder.
So let's stop talking about team building and start talking about team growing. Let's look at what we can do to let people naturally develop rather than force them to fit neatly into a predetermined size and shape.
As a keen gardener and someone who advises managers on employee engagement, I can see that there are many similarities between creating a thriving garden and creating a thriving organisation. Whether you have one pot plant sitting on your desk (one employee) or a plot of land that would rival the botanic gardens (many employees) the basic rules are the same. Get it right and your plants will thrive (your people will grow). Get it wrong and you will be left with a dead and dying garden (high turnover or, even worse, high disenagement). Gardening can be a rewarding pursuit. There is nothing better than seeing plants grow and it's the same with people. It can also be hard work and involve a long gap between effort and result. The similarities to managing people are obvious.
So learn some lessons about leadership from mother nature. Here are my top 10 to get you started.
  1. You can't have engaged leaders in a poor culture... you can't grow plants in bad soil
  2. We pick people for leadership roles for the wrong reasons... wrong plant in wrong location simply because we like the look of it
  3. New leaders need assistance and support... plants need help to get established too
  4. A leader in the wrong position can do damage... the wrong plant can potentially become a weed
  5. Bad habits from leaders rub off on their people... like pests and disease moving from plant to plant
  6. The right leaders provide staff with shelter from the organisational elements... like a tree shading smaller plants
  7. You need to remove the barriers to help leaders grow... plants grow better when you give them space
  8. Sometimes leaders outgrow their role and need to move on... sometimes plants need to be relocated to thrive
  9. You always need to be cultivating new leaders... you need plants in all stages of development to keep your garden healthy
  10. If leaders aren't growing they are dying... the law of nature, especially when it comes to plants

How To Avoid Fake Data Entry Employers

By Diane Cruz

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Making money from home is what most everyone dreams of. There are so many benefits to working from home, however, due to so many scams, many people are simply scared to purse anything online anymore. Although scams have gone on the rise within the past few years, there still are many legitimate jobs online such as data entry.
Data entry typing jobs have become the cream of the crop when it comes to preferred online work. It's mainly because these jobs are not only enjoyable, but they are fairly simple to do. Out of all the many programs available online, ad submission jobs have become the most lucrative. These jobs entail posting ads online to promote web companies and their products. They are particularly great for stay at home moms, dads and students as well. They offer lots of flexibility and one can choose to do as much or as little work as they wish. It's also a great way to cut down bills such as gas and child care expenses. As everyone knows, these bills can get quite expensive. With this type of work one is not employed, they are considered self-employed which means they will be responsible for their own taxes at tax time. Unlike traditional jobs, there is no prior experience required to land a job like this, because training is offered. The requirements are so minimal, basically anyone from anywhere around the world can participate in a program like this. Although contrary to popular belief, these are not a get rich scheme. However, it is not uncommon for one to be able to earn $200-$500 a day with time and effort.
Although these jobs are great, one still has to be very weary of online scams. It's best to do your research on any company you wish to work for prior to. Even the nicest looking websites can be hiding deception. There are several different types of scams concerning data entry. One that most people do not consider is someone who poses as being with a legitimate company. Therefore, if you were to run a check on the company and find out they were legit, you probably wouldn't think twice of paying someone that sent you the offer through an email. Then once you pay, you find out you just paid a total fraudster that had no relation to the website whatsoever. This has been happening much more frequently as the guys figured out that you can easily check out a business nowadays, however, how would you know if he were with the actual business or not? Well there are a few simple ways to avoid this scam. First of all, always make sure that the email address used to solicit payment matches the company in question. If they are using a free email address such as yahoo or gmail, this should instantly become a red flag. Just noticing small things like this can save you a lot of frustration. Also make sure the name on the email matches the name on the website. One other thing you can do is email the company from the actual websites contact form and make sure they are the one to whom you've been corresponding with.
Data entry is by far one of the most lucrative jobs online, just always make sure to do your research before handing over your hard earned money to a potential scam artist or fake employer.

Business Coaching Certification - Joining the Business Coaching Field

By Rafael Tassini

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Business coaching is a growing industry that provides the service of consulting or coaching for business owners and CEO's. The leaders who run companies sometimes need an outside perspective to survey the operations and assess where productivity is being slowed. These coaches can provide analysis, advice, support, and new knowledge, especially in the areas of ways to raise capital or business use of technology. The best coaches have earned their coaching certification credentials and are fully qualified to do these jobs. However, there are some coaches out there who have little to no experience or training in the field.
Business leaders seeking the services of a business coach should check to see if they have their coaching certification. This is gained through a strenuous training class that focuses on the practical application of business coaching principles followed by a rigorous qualifying exam to earn the certification. These courses provide students with study guides and memorization tools to help them learn the tools, processes, and formulas that have worked in the field of business as well items specific to coaching in business. These include learning how to acquire clients and lead business leaders. The clients of coaches in business are not used to being in the role of a follower, so there are special techniques and interpersonal skills that can increase the success of the business coach and the business leader with whom they are working.
Coaching certification courses teach students how to be effective and efficient in their own businesses to make profits soar. It would not speak well of the doctor is he was continually sick, right? Obviously the business coach must use their own expertise in their own business as well. The courses also train students in the best practices of business coaching. Students also learn how to structure a relationship with the client to be most effective at improving the productivity of their business.
So, who becomes a coach in business? Well, those that have had successful careers in business leadership and want a change of scene or pace might gain their business coaching certification. A person who has great analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills might seek it as a career from the beginning. Much like a sports coach, it does help if the business coach has been in business at least a little. Sometimes a role like this opens up in a corporation and people need training so they take the course to qualify.
